As befits a farm-based Herefordshire wagon - even a six-axle, 44-tonne, thoroughly 21st-century example - the images on Richard's truck are inspired by the county's traditional attractions of hops, cider and its 1000-year-old cathedral. The airbrushed murals are by Matt Pennycott, but Richard reckons the co-stars of the show are the guys at Haydon Autospray of Radstock, near Bath, whose painstaking preparation and subsequent lacquering transformed a good job into a masterpiece.

Naturally the 6x2 unit has alloy wheels, uprights, sidepipes and light bars galore, but open the door and you'll discover an inside paint job complemented by special leather upholstery which matches the overall livery. Although he's a partner in the family business, Richard is a bit nervous of the reaction when his dad and brothers discover just how much all this cost, so let's just say it was (well) over five grand.
