Maut and About in Germany

Document Actions
In the ever popular Long Distance Diary slot this month T&D's multi-talented Cornishman, Craig Sheer (himself a former continental hand) joins John Hunt 'Maut and About' in Germany.

John, who has 20 years of professional driving under his belt, pilots a rather special 470hp Scania and tilt trailer. The trip begins on a P&O ferry from Dover to Calais, then continues though France, Belgium and Luxembourg via the Neufchateau truckstop to Germany and the joys of the new Maut tolling system.

John - something of hot head in his younger days but latterly more relaxed - finds German people very friendly and undeserving of their sometime arrogant reputation. As ever T&D aims to inform as well as entertain and he has plenty of useful professional experience to impart to those thinking of working on that side of the water.
